Envisioning & Positioning

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Quality of Light is everything when photographing. When you have the understanding of the lighting situation, you will choose your subject with a discerning eye and your position to the subject. When it's overcast and even light, this is the time to shoot in forests, flowers, portraits of people, wildlife. When it comes to a grand scene, the golden hour moments are the best.

WHAT I NEED TO KNOW

The different types of lighting are: Front Lighting ...the light is directly on your subject; Sidelighting ... dramatic with a dark side to your animal; Backlighting ... looking towards the sun and the edge of your subject is in a glow while your subject is dark; Diffused Lighting ... the sunlight is "diffused" such as in smoke, steam, fog, this is beautiful soft lighting withOUT extreme dark shadows and bright subject; Overcast & Even lighting ... the subject is evenly lit.
