Texture & Line
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The "line" of the photo leads the eye into and beyond the grand scene. Thus, have a foreground with interest that leads to the main part of the picture.Texture can be rough, smooth, crusty, granulated, soft, etc and can help set the "mood" of your overall picture. Patterns are created from shadows which are created by a low angle to the sun.
WHAT I NEED TO KNOW
I often experiment with low and high angles to capture texture and line. But, if I get too low with patterns in the sand dunes or shadowing in snow, I loose the "lines" or patterns. Experimenting with low and high positions to your subject just adds alternative positioning to just "standing" there.
