I can be in awe and frightened at the same time when watching the rage of torrential water. And yet, within the transparent wall of droplets, rainbows appear. The “life” of a droplet is fleeting when in free fall. Otherwise, it clings tenaciously as it glistens on grasses, flowers, furry beasts, & windows before it becomes a drip, & then a splash. When I stop & stare, I also see it in slow motion as it quietly & gently weaves between ledges & rocks & over logs & other debris. Its “thunder” & rage dissipates before my eyes.
